Thai retailers and watchmakers celebrate a heartwarming Earth Day

To commemorate Earth Day, C Thong Panich and Mondaine recently launched the Luminox Bear Grylls Survival Master #TIDE Chronograph 3740 made from recycled plastic waste, and arranged a trip to Koh Mun Nai in Rayong.

Managing Director Vipavan Mahadumrongkul of C Thong Panich and celebrities such as Pongsakorn Mettarikanon are working with officials to collect marine debris and clean up beaches before visiting the East Coast Center for Environment and Natural Resources to help endangered marine animals return to the ocean.

“Over the past four years, the company has had a policy of protecting the environment and returning good things back to nature. We make a number of limited edition watches with the aim of donating a percentage of the revenue to the Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. Coastal Resources. To build on that idea, we collaborated with Luminox this year to launch the Luminox Bear Grylls Survival Eco Master #TIDE Chronograph 3740, which is made from used plastic waste,” said Vipavan.

“This stylish watch features the latest innovations along with the origin of the case and bezel and band. All of these are made from recycled plastic. We take plastic waste such as water bottles collected from Thailand’s Andaman Sea through a biodegradable process at #TIDE, a renowned conservation organization from Switzerland.”

He added that this new generation of chronograph watches have been designed while reducing the amount of trash in Thailand’s oceans. This is a great project to usher in a new era in the watch business.

“The company is actively aiming to steer the Swiss watch industry towards achieving permanent sustainability initiatives by reducing our net carbon footprint to zero,” said Niel Moeller, CEO of Mondaine.

“Since 2020, we have devoted ourselves to designing and producing goods that are more sustainable and conservative. In addition to these partnerships, we work with renowned survival explorer and environmentalist Bear Grylls, who represents his mission for long-term conservation. This work with Luminox has produced a new collaboration in the Eco Master Series, a unique edition in three tones. Yellow, green and blue are cool colors for watch faces and bands, and are considered beautiful timepieces that might also help reduce the problem of plastic waste in the ocean.”
