Serie A: How to watch on TV, live streaming, Scudettos, Europa League websites and relegation races

Last weekend in Serie A saw a number of unresolved battles. AC Milan and Inter Milan are still in contention for the title, vying for the Scudetto in their last game of the season (see all the action on Paramount+). Salernitana can complete a fantastic comeback and return to play in the First Division football again next season. There are also three teams that will fight for the last place in the Europa League, after Lazio qualified last week.

Serie A Scudetto Racing

  • Milan (1st place, 83 points, +35 GD): Sassuolo (A)
  • Inter Milan (2nd place, 81 points, +49 GD): Sampdoria (H)

Either Milan or Inter Milan will lift the trophy at the end of the season, but they will have to wait until the last second of the final, something that has not happened since the 2009/10 season when Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan won the Scudetto. Sunday will be emotional as Milan face Sassuolo away and Inter Milan host Sampdoria. Milan only needs a draw to win their first title since the 2010/11 season. On the other hand, Inter Milan should beat Sampdoria and hope that Sassuolo will beat the Rossoneri. This is the only combination that can make Simone Inzaghi’s team Italian champions for the second year in a row.

Europa League and Europa Conference League

  • Lazio (5th place, 63 points, +19 GD): Hellas Verona (H)
  • Rome (6th, 60 points, +13 GD): Turin (A)
  • Fiorentina (7th place, 59 points, +6 GD): Juventus (at home)
  • Atalanta (8th place, 59 points, +18 GD): Empoli (h)

After a draw with Juventus, Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio snatched qualification for the Europa League and would only need a draw in the last game at home against Hellas Verona to finish fifth. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s last-minute equalizer completely changed the outlook for the European Grand Prix after a disappointing weekend for all the contenders. Atalanta lost at San Siro to Milan, while Roma drew against already relegated Venice. On Monday, Fiorentina had the chance to win to cement their place in the top six but lost 4-1 to Sampdoria away. Now everything will be decided with the final matches of the season. The fifth and sixth places qualify for the European League, while the seventh places qualify for the Conference League. There is also a scenario where Serie A gets eight teams in Europe. Roma need to finish seventh in the league and then win the conference final against Feyenoord. In this case, the eighth team in the table will go to the league conference next season. With the current schedule, Lazio and Roma go to the Europa League and Fiorentina will play the Conference League, while Atalanta is currently out of all European competitions.

Europa League scenarios

To qualify for the European League…

The gypsy must…

or

  • Watch Fiorentina and Atalanta fail to win their final match

Fiorentina must…

  • Beat Juventus and watch Roma fail to beat Turin

Atalanta must…

  • Beat Empoli and watch Fiorentina and Roma fail to win

Note: Roma can also qualify for the Europa League by defeating Feyenoord in the Conference League Final on May 25.

exclusion zone

  • Salernitana (17th, 31 points, -41 GD): Udinese (at home)
  • Cagliari (18, 29 pts, -34 GD): Venice (A)

After last weekend saw Spezia and Sampdoria snatch safe zones and ensure they play Serie A next year while Genoa and Venice are officially relegated to Serie B, the final place will be decided in the last ninety minutes this weekend. Salernitana drew with Empoli last week and ruled out his first chance but Davide Nicola’s stunning comeback could become a reality if they beat Udinese on Sunday. If they draw or lose, they should hope that Cagliari do not beat Venice in their last game of the season, or else Cagliari will play in Serie A next year. On the other hand, Cagliari have to win and hope that Salernitana will draw or lose to Udinese.

Salernitana vs Udinese: Sunday May 22 @ 2:45 pm ET (Paramount +)
Venice vs Cagliari: Sunday May 22 @ 2:45pm ET (Paramount +)
