Philip Zinkernagel joins Olympiacos

Watford are close to completing a deal that would see Danish attacking midfielder Philippe Zinkernagel join Olympiacos on a permanent deal.

It is understood that the final papers are now being prepared.

Zinkernagel – who won back-to-back promotions with both Watford and Nottingham Forest (on loan) – still has four years left on his contract.

The 27-year-old has arrived in Athens and is now scheduled to take his medical treatment as the transfer is nearing completion.

West Promichino confirm Morton exit

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed 22-year-old Calum Morton’s final departure to Fleetwood Town.

The striker joined Albion Academy in 2017 from Yeovil Town, where he spent a season before joining Northampton Town on loan in 2020, where he scored five goals in nine matches.

He has since had loan spells with Lincoln City, Peterborough United and Fleetwood, scoring four goals in 18 games.

Morton has not scored in a league game for Albion.

Sadio Mane: Jurgen Klopp was sad to leave Liverpool – but I understood Bayern’s move

Sadio Mane has revealed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is “a little sad” about his departure to Bayern Munich.

Mane, 30, completed his £35m transfer to the Bundesliga champions on Wednesday after completing his medical earlier this week.

The former Liverpool striker said Klopp wishes him well before moving to Germany but was saddened to see him leave Anfield after an impressive six-year spell.

Arsenal manager Edu says the club is committed to having a young squad – and has suggested more signings will arrive this summer.

Jed Wallace is in medicine with West Brom

Leeds United striker Ryan Edmondson is set to join Carlisle United on a permanent transfer.

The 21-year-old, who signed Leeds from York City more than four years ago, is returning to the second league after winning the promotion on loan with Port Vale last season.

Edmundson made two major appearances for Leeds as a substitute, his last appearance being in September 2018.

England Women’s have confirmed that record scorer Elaine White will miss the match against the Netherlands in Leeds after she tested positive for Covid-19.

“She will be monitored regularly with the aim of returning to the camp as soon as possible,” an official statement said.

A replacement will not be called, and Sarina Wegmann is left with a 22-man squad for the match against Holland at Elland Road on Friday 24 June.

White scored four goals in the league and scored four assists in 22 matches in the Women’s Premier League during the 2021-22 season.

Philip Zinkernagel, who spent last season on loan to Nottingham Forest, is close to agreeing to a move to his sister club Olympiacos in Greece.

Zinckernagel was an influential part of Forest’s promotion to the Premier League as part of a loan arrangement from Watford.

However, Forrest chose not to pursue the move for the 27-year-old Dane and instead agreed to Olympiacos tentatively terms with Watford to take him to Athens.

Mario Gotze joins Eintracht Frankfurt on a three-year deal

Mario Gotze returned to the Bundesliga after signing with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Southampton have confirmed the signing of Armel Bella Kochap from VFL Bochum.

Liverpool have agreed to sell Takumi Minamino to Monaco for €18 million

Monaco have agreed a €18 million deal to sign Takumi Minamino from Liverpool.

Minamino has agreed personal terms with the French side but the deal is subject to a medical as the 27-year-old remains in his native Japan.

Liverpool will receive a flat fee of €15 million with another €3 million included in the deal as a possible addition.

Arsenal make Leeds United bid for Ravenha
